Virtual Town Hall Meeting – Academy’s Proposed Governance Changes

You may have heard about some proposed changes for the Academy's governance structure as well as an amendment to the bylaws. (Note that these links are to pages on the members only portion of the site and will require you to log in.) The proposed bylaws amendment would shift responsibility for voting on changes to the Academy Bylaws from the House of Delegates to the Board of Directors. The proposed governance reorganization would replace both the House of Delegates and the Council on Future Practice with a new 15-member Council on Strategic Alignment.

The Academy is soliciting member comments and questions regarding these proposed changes via a member comment survey open through July 31st. At the end of the comment period, the House of Delegates will be voting either for or against the bylaws amendments which may then lead to the dissolution of the House of Delegates. As your representative, I want to make sure I am reflecting your voices.

The BHN leadership team are planning to hold a joint virtual town hall meeting next week so members have the opportunity to learn more about these proposed changes, ask questions, share opinions, and discuss the potential impact of these changes on the future of our organizations. If you would like to submit questions ahead of time, please email them to sharon.lemons@mhmrtc.org

If you are unable to make the town hall meeting but would like to discuss this more, please feel free to reach out to sharon.lemons@mhmrtc.org for more information.
